Chris Romance
Senior Instructor
Chris Romance is currently serving with a municipal police department located in Nassau County, New York, where he is designated the Executive Officer (XO). In this role he is the second-in-command of the police department, responsible for managing the daily operations of the police department, to include policy making, emergency management, homeland security, counterterrorism, training, field intelligence, and special security events. Additionally, he serves as the liaison to intelligence-sharing partner agencies at the local, state, and federal level. He has been a member of the police department for over 26 years, starting with the police department in January 1997. He was promoted to Sergeant in June of 2005, Lieutenant in January of 2010, and Police Inspector in November of 2021.
Chris is a graduate of the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigation’s FBI National Academy, located in Quantico, Virginia. He is a New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certified MPTC Police Instructor, a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Advanced Incident Command Instructor and has completed many other instructor-level training courses around the country through his training with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium. He has attended training at Texas A&M University’s National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center for Emergency Management; U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Domestic Preparedness; New Mexico Tech’s Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center; Louisiana State University’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training; National Nuclear Security Administration’s Counter Terrorism Operations Support Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training; FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute; NYPD Counterterrorism Division Regional Infrastructure Protection Center; and many others.
Additonal instructor qualifications include the following: Authorized Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Outreach Trainer; U.S. Department of Homeland Security Advanced Incident Command Instructor; National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Active Shooter Instructor; Crisis Managment, Response and Intervention Instructor; New York State DCJS-certified Police Instructor; New York State Certified Security Guard Instructor; Workplace Security Instructor; Combating Workplace Violence Instructor; Workplace Policy, Non-discrimination, and Anti-Harassment Instructor; OSHA Hazard Communication Instructor; Hazardous Materials Instructor; and Emergency Care Instructor (Advanced CPR/AED, First Aid, Epi-pen, NARCAN).
