If you want to learn First Aid, CPR and AED, the Emergency Response Consulting Group has you covered with this one simple program. Whether it's as simple as a sprain or as serious as sudden cardiac arrest, this course has it covered. In just 5.5 hours, anyone can learn how to recognize an emergency, act appropriately, and sustain life until professional help arrives.
The First Aid training includes instruction in the following topics: breathing emergencies, sudden illness and injury, bleeding, preventing disease transmission, acting in an emergency, heart attack, chest pain, bleeding/wound care, shock, burns, serious injuries, bone/joint/muscle injuries, poisoning, cold emergencies and heat emergencies.
The CPR and AED portion of the program teaches the principles of basic life support for adults, children, and infants. It gives you the latest guidelines for CPR and emergency cardiac care, starting with how to assess the scene of an emergency and take stock of the victim's condition. The course details how to perform one-rescuer CPR and rescue breathing, and how to manage choking in a conscious person. It also addresses infection control. The CPR segment teaches the principles of basic life support through instructor training and demonstrations through National Safety Council’s new video self instruction (VSI) "practice-while-you-watch" method. The AED portion of the program details key operating characteristics and shows you proper precautions and maintenance techniques. It explains how AEDs work and why they're a critical part of emergency cardiac care. It also includes guidelines for meeting the state Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) laws, and outlines the need for medical direction.
The student manual serves as a great on-site reference guide you’ll use again and again, and it includes a pull-out First Aid Quick Guide and the Video Self Instruction DVD for retention and home use.
