Incident Command System Overview for Executives and Senior Officials (G-402)
The complexity of incident management, coupled with the growing need for multi-agency and multi-functional involvement on incidents, has increased the need for a single standard incident management system that can be used by all emergency response disciplines. Use of the Incident Command System by public safety, governmental agencies (Local, State, and Federal), and private sector organizations across the country is increasing. ICS is now being used for a variety of applications including:
Governmental operations and activities (Local, State, Federal)
School, College, University incidents and operations
Fires (structural and wildland)
This course is designed for executives, administrators, and policy makers.
Topics and Issues to be Covered
The ICS for Executives and Senior Officials course module is an ICS orientation for executives, administrators, and policy makers. It provides a basic understanding of ICS, Unified and Area Command, and Multi-agency coordination to those persons responsible for setting or implementing policy, but who normally are not part of the on-scene ICS organization. The module also discusses responsibilities and information transfer between agency executives and incident commanders.
Course Completion/NIMS Compliance
Due to the integrated nature of the training and to insure compliance with ICS development standards, participants must commit to attending the entire training session. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion.
An Executive Briefing is available to use when time does not permit the use of the full module.
